With a name like “St. Pete Brewing” you gotta be bringing the big guns right? You’re representing the city! Well, I want to do an exercise with you. I want you to read the next two sentences and then close your eyes:

I want you to imagine a brewery. The most basic one you can, just based on that word, “Brewery.”

Ok. What did you see? Wood bar? Light Beer? Simple logo? Popcorn machine? That’s what this brewery is. Beer and breweries like this have their place, and I think that place is for people like my Dad, who don’t really love experimental beers and just want a light beer that reminds them of Bud Light.

If I’m being honest (which I promised I would at the beginning of this experiment), we got the IPA here, and it was almost undrinkable. The Kölsch variety they had was fine. The space was fine. Everything was at best, fine. It felt like the brewer didn’t want to take risks, which I understand is hard to do for a brewery! But still, nothing wowed me here.

Would I go back? No. I think I’ve seen enough.
